Blue
Last week I interviewed an emerging artist who has a lot to contribute to the current music scene. Her team DM Estudio welcomed me: Achi, her producer, and her CM: Andrea. The atmosphere felt very relaxed as we shared some mate to have a fresh and enjoyable interview.
There are those who write to heal, and there are those who heal by writing. In the case of BLUE, both truths coexist. Born in the United States but raised from a very young age in Buenos Aires, her musical identity is a subtle hybrid between languages, genres, and emotions. “I started composing in English because that was what I listened to as a girl. But recently, I dared to write in Spanish,” she shares.
Her journey in music began organically, as a reflection of her surroundings. Between Michael Jackson's albums—her childhood idol—and new voices like Billie Eilish, there is also space for Maná and Julieta Venegas. Her ear, curious and unbiased, is nourished by the new and what moves her.
In her early steps, BLUE moved within more traditional pop, but her artistic evolution led her to a more introspective, intimate, and raw sound. “I started listening to myself more. Allowing myself to write from a deeper place. My lyrics changed, and with them, my music did too,” she says.
Today, her proposal navigates between electropop, R&B, indie, and soul, with a clear base: dark pop. A style that, far from being superficial, focuses on emotion. “I compose from the melody, over some chords, and from there, I start to channel what I'm feeling. I don’t have a fixed technique; I just let myself go,” she confesses. Sometimes, there are dozens of unfinished songs that remain on pause until one of them makes sense to her. “Maybe I have to go through 30 songs to get to the one I really like,” she says, sounding as if she’s talking about life.
Because for BLUE, music is not a profession: it’s her way of being in the world. “Everything goes through there. Music is my life. It sustains me and inspires me,” she asserts. And that feeling resonates. Listening to her songs is entering a dual atmosphere where vulnerability and strength, shadow and light coexist. “The most beautiful thing that happened to me was when someone told me that my music accompanied them during a difficult time. That’s what I want to generate: identification and companionship.”
That honesty is what sets her apart in the Argentine music scene. “I feel that dark pop is not very explored here, and I also focus a lot on the lyrics, on not saying just anything. I don’t want to create something empty.”
Outside the sound world, BLUE draws from readings, movies, and personal experiences. “Sometimes you feel like your inspiration runs out, and that’s when you need to connect with other things. That’s also part of the creative process.”
And how do you handle exposure? “I live it naturally; I have no problem showing myself as I am. But there are days when I feel overwhelmed. And others, when I feel like a goddess. Like everyone else, I suppose,” she says with a laugh, and it’s impossible not to empathize.

Her latest single, Rest in Peace, released last Friday, July 25, is a manifesto of healing. An emotional farewell that transforms into a song. “I felt I had to bury that part of myself that accepted things I didn’t deserve. It was my way of saying ‘enough’ and starting anew.” The song emerged almost without searching: a couple of chords, a spontaneous melody, and a lyric that, as she says, “understood it before I finished it.”
“I hope that anyone who listens to it can heal too. That they feel it’s possible to let go and start again”, she wishes.
Currently, BLUE is working with Achi Deuz, her producer, on an EP of 6 to 8 songs. There is no release date yet, but the path is already underway. She also dreams of collaborating with other artists and expanding her sound universe. What she is clear about is her message: “Do what you love. Dream, be daring, and don’t worry about what others say.”
BLUE not only makes music. BLUE transforms. And, like every emotional alchemist, she turns pain into art and shadow into possibility.
