Lovely Denim Fall Winter Collection Presentation at BAF Week (March 2024)
On Wednesday, March 6, Lovely Denim presented its new fall winter 2024 collection "Street Denim Stories" with a live performance at Russel Passage in Palermo. The brand participated in BAFWEEK Fashion Week for the second consecutive time and we could see on the catwalk a proposal described as "bold and avant-garde, inspired by rebellion and individuality".
I've known Lovely Denim since its beginnings, and I remember that it was -for my teenage self- one of the coolest brands I could wear. And how could it not be? If it was worn by the it girls of the moment, the real Argentine it girls, in a world where it wasn't full of influencers -and I don't mean this as a negative thing but as a reality-. Lucia Celasco is the face of the brand and she always had a unique style that set trends. Also, back then when influencers were really bloggers, she had her own blog and her style book -which if you haven't read, I highly recommend it because it will transport you to the 2014 vibes that are now in fashion again-. Then, she appeared as the image of Lovely Denim -I'm not sure if the chronological order is correct but that's how I remember it- and this place appeared with an incredible Punta del Este vibe, and the only thing I wanted was a dressing room with all her clothes.
Almost 10 years later, I'm invited to this brand's fashion show for fashion week, sitting in a chair with my name on it and a gift. Clearly, this experience gave me a touch of nostalgia. In addition, that feeling was enhanced by the fashion show itself: urban, trendy, modern clothes -as someone young who likes to convey rebelliousness through their looks- far from following the minimalist or "quiet luxury" aesthetic that was in fashion last year and, personally, already bored me a little bit.
In the new collection we can see from oversize denim or cargo pants to tailoring in its street style format. Striking textures such as metallics, glitter or lace. The colors that caught my eye the most were red -of course since it is the color of the season- and black. The style of the collection is a fusion between rebelliousness and glamour, with garments such as the faux fur coats. The clothes in the collection create a seductive aesthetic in the wearer, but without losing comfort.
As for the catwalk, among the models we could see some Argentine nepo-babys who, in my opinion, brought youth and sophistication to the event as they represent the new generation of celebrities: Taína and Benicio Gravier, Lola Latorre, Delfi García Moritán, Bauti Vicuña, Hele Otamendi, Milo Camisani, Francesca Ribero and India Ortega.
Finally, the organization of Grupo Mass is remarkable because it makes it easy and quick to enter the event, to be comfortably seated during the fashion show and to be able to appreciate and analyze the entire collection from the front row. Now, I look forward to the cold days to wear some of these proposals in my outfits.
