The strategic funding will enable ChatterPay to strengthen its core infrastructure, simplify on/off ramps integrations, expand spending options such as credit cards linked to the user’s WhatsApp wallet, and enhance the overall WhatsApp payment experience for users across LATAM and beyond.
Founded in 2024 at The Level Up Hackathon by Ethereum Argentina, ChatterPay is on a mission to make crypto simple and accessible for everyone.
Today, the platform already has users in 56 countries, with its core experience allowing people to transact in stablecoins without ever leaving WhatsApp.

The strategic round is led by Scroll, a prominent Layer-2 scaling solution built to make Ethereum faster, more affordable, and accessible to users worldwide. Scroll’s co-founder Sandy Peng has long emphasized the need to design products for emerging markets with a mobile-first mindset.

ChatterPay’s momentum has been fast and organic. After launching on Scroll Mainnet on May 13, 2025, the platform has seen ~300 wallets created on Scroll, generating over 100,000 social media impressions with $0 marketing spend.
This follows a string of early wins at Ethereum Argentina’s Level Up Hackathon, where ChatterPay took first prize in the Keystore track and became the most voted team in Quadratic Funding. Additional victories at Ethereum Uruguay and ICP Chain Fusion Hackathon BA further validated the product’s potential.
In May, the team was selected for the Scroll Open Campus in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, a global stage to showcase their innovation and prepare for broader market rollout.
