Artificial intelligence, or AI, is a field that has experienced a surprising journey over the years. .

  1. Theoretic Comienzos (1950s - 1960s): It all began in the 1950s, when some geniuses like Alan Turing and John McCarthy began to imagine machines that could think as human beings. They were the pioneers of AI and raised fundamental questions about how we could make computers smart.
  2. Age of Logic (1960s - 1970s): During the 1960s and 1970s, AI focused on using logical rules so that computers could reason and make decisions. Special programming languages such as LISP were created to work on AI projects. It was about teaching machines to think logically.
  3. Decades Difficult (1980s - 1990s): But after a promising start, the AI faced technical challenges and suffered a little during the 1980s and 1990s. Investment and interest decreased, which is known as "the winter of the AI". It was a difficult time, but the researchers did not win.
  4. Learning and Big Data (2000s - 2010s): The AI returned strong in the early 2000s thanks to the boom of massive data collection and automatic learning. This means that computers can learn from data and improve with time. Do you remember Siri or Alexa? Examples of how AI started to help us in tasks such as recognizing our voices or answering questions.
  5. AI today (2020s ahead): Currently, AI is everywhere. Computers are smarter than ever and do amazing things. Think about the cars that drive themselves, the precise medical diagnoses or how your phone recognizes your face to unlock. AI has become part of our everyday life.
